The Summer Menu

Settle into Summer at The Black Friar.

Summer arrives at The Black Friar and so, dear friends, does our new summer á la carte. Be amongst the first to feast upon an abundance of tasty and refreshing dishes – it’s all about delectable, fresh flavours this season.

In the beginning

Pigs Head Croquette. In proper Friar style, a truly medieval dish. Garnished with curried apple, pickles + a tangy celeriac remoulade.

Steak Tartare. Ground beef bound by confit egg yolk + seasoned with an array of seasonal vegetables. Served with crisp focaccia for a light spread. Bon appétit.

The main event

Seared Pork Loin. Juicy pink pork, braised gem lettuce, pea, broad bean + chorizo fricassee. A classic done proper, with a Friar twist for Summer. 

Heritage Tomato Barley Risotto (vg). Fast becoming a new Vegan favourite. Risotto, confit artichoke + black garlic combine to make the perfect creamy texture.

Sweet Soy Duck Breast. A showstopper of the season. Duck croquette coated with sesame seed + decorated with Asian vegetables Pak choi and shitake mushrooms. Smothered in a chilli broth, this dish is truly not one to miss this season.

And it was so

Espresso + Chocolate Bomb. End with a bang. The ultimate indulgence – coffee cream, salted caramel + hazelnut inside a melting chocolate sphere. A proper sweet treat.

Lime + Chocolate Tart. A most refreshing dish, balancing rich chocolate with the zesty taste of lime. Topped with delicious Chantilly cream + blueberry compote for that extra freshness.
